Spring is upon us, and with it comes the highly anticipated second season of The Last of Us.
The latest teaser for season 2, which confirms it will premiere in April on Max, was unveiled on Monday at the CES technology conference in Las Vegas and offers further insight into some of the video game’s characters who will star, including Abby (played by Kaitlyn Dever), Dina (Isabella Merced) and Isaac Dixon (Jeffrey Wright).
“It doesn’t matter if you have a code like me,” says Abby in a voiceover. “There are just some things everyone agrees are just wrong.”
The one-minute teaser begins with Abby walking down a dark hallway as a siren blares, holding her gun and looking her shoulder with a gun in hand. It ends with Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, walking down the same corridor with a gun in hand.
Footage also shows Abby kneeling over a grave and crying. In the video game, Abby is a soldier who clashes with Ellie as she seeks revenge for her loved one.
Ellie and Dina are then shown slow dancing before escaping from a horde of infected. Dina is a free spirit and Ellie’s love interest.
Militia leader Isaac Dixon is shown by the light of a campfire. Pedro Pascal’s return as Joel Miller is also hinted at as he is seen in tears.
New additions to the second season include Catherine O’Hara, Danny Ramirez, Tati Gabriel, Young Maginot, Ariella Bearer and Spencer Lord.
