BTS member Kim Seok-jin, widely recognized as Jin, is preparing to make a much-awaited return to the music spotlight with his second solo album titled Echo, which is expected to release in May. As reported by Korean outlet Newsen, the 32-year-old artist is planning his solo comeback just weeks before fellow BTS bandmates RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are scheduled to be discharged from their mandatory military duties in June, building excitement across the global BTS fandom.
Shortly after the news broke, BTS’s agency BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the update in a statement released via Soompi. According to a label representative, “Jin is nearing the end of the preparations for a new album, which is scheduled for release in May.” Additional announcements and full details will be shared gradually.” The confirmation only heightened anticipation among fans eager to hear more from the beloved vocalist.
This new album marks Jin’s musical return nearly half a year after he released his debut solo project Happy in November. With Echo, the singer is set to embark on a new creative journey, sharing music that reflects his own personal emotions and experiences. BIGHIT MUSIC has also revealed that pre-orders for Echo will officially open on Tuesday, giving fans the opportunity to secure a copy ahead of time.
According to the agency, Echo will deliver a collection of seven tracks that take listeners on an emotional journey through relatable themes, interpreted through Jin’s signature style and heartfelt vocals. The album is said to embrace a band-focused sound that complements his vocal strengths, while also offering a more intimate connection with listeners. The project aims to deepen the connection between Jin and his global fanbase through sincere storytelling and expressive musicality.
Starting April 15, BIGHIT MUSIC will begin unveiling promotional content for Echo each day until April 19, all at 6 a.m. KST. The first teaser will be revealed via video at the iconic COEX K-POP SQUARE in Seoul, offering fans a visual preview of Jin’s next musical chapter.
