Trevor Immelman will take Nick Faldo’s place as lead golf analyst for CBS

After serving as CBS Sports’ lead golf analyst for 16 years, Nick Faldo is retiring. Another former Masters victor will take his position.

The 2008 Masters champion from South Africa, Trevor Immelman, who will lead the international squad in this year’s Presidents Cup, will replace Faldo beginning in 2019, according to CBS.

Three-time winner of the Masters and Open Championships, Faldo joined CBS as the lead announcer in 2007 after working at ABC. The Wyndham Championship’s championship round on August 7 will be his final CBS telecast.

“Nick brought the same passion and dedication that propelled him to the world’s No. 1 golfer to our broadcasts,” CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said. “He combined his profound knowledge of golf with his wit and charm, enlightening viewers and elevating our coverage.”

Following Faldo, Lanny Wadkins, and Ken Venturi, who worked on the network for 35 years, Immelman is only the fourth lead golf analyst for CBS in the previous 50 years.
