Thanks to new agreements, the Australian crime drama Troppo, starring Thomas Jane and Nicole Chamoun, will tour around Europe.
The show debuted on Australia’s ABC and made its American debut on Amazon Freevee in May 2022. Canal+ Group’s thriller channel Polar+ snatched up pay, streaming, and sell-through rights to it for French-speaking territories, and AMC Networks Central Europe acquired free, pay, and streaming rights.
Troppo is available on Amazon Freevee in Germany and the United Kingdom, and Viaplay, a pay-TV network in the Nordic region, carries the show. RTP2 Portugal acquired the free-TV rights in the territory.
Trappo is based on the best-selling Crimson Lake novels by Candice Fox. Jane plays the depressed ex-cop Ted Conkaffey, who works with the quirky small-town private investigator Amanda Pharell (Chamoun) to figure out who killed a local tech pioneer. Co-stars David Lyons, Yerin Ha, and Radha Mitchell. Jocelyn Moorhouse, Catherine Millar, Ben Howling, Grant Brown, and Yolanda Ramke were the directors of Troppo, which she devised and wrote.
After the second season of the show concluded production, Leonine Studios is in charge of handling sales abroad.
The German political thriller series Bonn, which covers Cold War intrigue in the former German capital in the post-World War II era, has been picked up by SBS Australia, RTV Slovenija, MTVA Hungary, and RTP2 Portugal, according to Leonine. He has also inked free-TV plans for the series. Odeon Fiction produced the six-part series, which stars Mercedes Müller, Max Riemelt, Sebastian Blomberg, Martin Wuttke, and Juergen Maurer between them.
