United Airlines flight gets back to the airport in the midst of reports of airplane debris in neighborhoods outside Denver

A United Airlines flight bound for Honolulu had to get back to Denver International Airport on Saturday in the wake of enduring an engine issue, a representative for the airport told CNN.

The flight returned securely to the airport around 1:30 p.m. local time, the representative said.

That was around 20 minutes after police in Broomfield, Colorado, said by means of Twitter that they had gotten reports that an airplane flying over the Denver suburb experienced engine difficulty and had “dropped debris in several neighborhoods around 1:08 p.m.”

“No injuries report at this time,” the tweet added.

Extra tweets from police said debris landed in a Commons Park and the Northmoor and Red Leaf neighborhoods of the city, which is around 25 miles north of Denver and 30 miles east of Denver International Airport.

Specialists still can’t seem to authoritatively interface the two episodes, yet the Federal Aviation Administration affirmed in articulation that a Boeing 777-200 securely got back to the Denver International Airport in the wake of “experiencing a right-engine failure shortly after takeoff.”

“The FAA is aware of reports of debris in the vicinity of the airplane’s flight path,” the statement said.
