If you have an older Samsung Galaxy Watch, there’s good news: the firm said today that it has finally started to bring out One UI 6 Watch to its older Wear OS smartwatches.
Samsung’s version of Wear OS 5, the One UI 6 Watch, has a number of new capabilities. Regarding health and fitness, this includes FDA-approved sleep apnea detection, AI-powered health advice, and Energy Score, a novel metric for measuring recovery from physical stress and exercise. (See our evaluations of the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Ring, and Ultra for more information on how these three features.) In the meanwhile, you can combine different activity kinds to create a personalized workout with the new Workout Routine feature. The Race function, which allows runners and cyclists to compare their recent and previous workouts, is also included.
In addition to health tracking, the One UI 6 Watch will have improved compatibility with other Galaxy smartphones and new watch faces. The double squeeze gesture and AI-generated suggested responses will be available to users of Galaxy phones. Previously accessible as an accessibility setting, the pinch gesture now occupies a larger portion of the main interface.
However, the update may not appear immediately. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch 6 will be the first to get it, followed in the coming weeks by the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 4 models.
