With an eye toward infrastructure and construction projects, Eicher unveils its heavy-duty truck range

The VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) business unit Eicher Trucks & Buses introduced the Eicher Non-Stop Series, an updated model of its heavy-duty trucks (HDTs), on November 20. Long-haulage trucks are designed to serve businesses involved in infrastructure and construction projects. They are utilized for the transportation of cement, tankers, steel, bulkers, and market loads.

The four new HD trucks that make up the Non-Stop Series are the Eicher Pro 6019 XPT Tipper, the Eicher Pro 6048XP haulage truck, the Eicher Pro 6055XP, and the Eicher Pro 6055XP 4×2 tractor-trucks. They will be integrated into the national market over time. Eicher reported that it invests between Rs 500 and Rs 600 crore annually on capacity expansion, product development, and other areas, without disclosing the investments made on the product lines.

In the domestic heavy commercial vehicle market, tippers make up about 25% of the market, tractors make up 20%, and multi-axles make up the remaining 20%, according to Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VECV.

“If you look at heavy-duty (segment), there is an increasing migration happening towards tractors,” he said in response to a question regarding the prospects it sees with the recently introduced commercial vehicles. This is due to the fact that tractors gain popularity as a result of lower overall operating costs as infrastructure improves. As a result, this HD industry area will continue to grow at a faster rate than the others. In addition, the growth of tippers might also be attributed to infrastructural developments.

Additionally, he said that the company is open to the notion of introducing its HDTs, particularly the recently introduced models, in LNG.

According to Gagandeep Singh Gandhok, Senior VP of HD Truck Business at VECV, the goods were previously available, although with less horsepower.

We have increased the engine’s power output because we have observed an increase in higher payload trucks. When you switch to bigger payload vehicles, the cost per tonne per kilometer improves,” he stated.

“The cars are set up to generate continuous growth in business and profitability with our comprehensive service solutions that utilize AI and machine learning,” he continued. “The vehicles have been designed to ensure exceptional performance.”

According to Eicher, the vehicles are supported by its nationwide network of more than 850 touchpoints, which includes more than 8,000 retail locations for parts and more than 425 authorized service centers. According to the firm, every Eicher HD car has 100% connection, backed by an uptime center.
