Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 series is set to make its global debut, with the unveiling scheduled for March at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. Meanwhile, in China, the company is gearing up for the launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which is expected to be introduced at a dedicated event on February 26. The upcoming flagship has been the subject of multiple leaks, with recent renders revealing a striking two-tone design, while reports suggest it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and boast Leica-branded cameras.
Xiaomi’s worldwide launch of the new series is scheduled for March 2 at MWC in Barcelona, according to a statement on X. The teaser for the series features the slogan, “See you at the pinnacle.” It is anticipated that the ordinary Xiaomi 15 and the high-end Xiaomi 15 Ultra would be on display during this global launch. However, before reaching the global stage, the company plans to unveil the Ultra variant in China first. This launch, rumored for February 26, is said to coincide with the introduction of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra EV. Notably, the standard Xiaomi 15 model had already debuted in China last year.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra has been generating considerable buzz, and recent leaks have provided a glimpse into its expected design and features. A Russian tech website recently shared alleged renders displaying the device in three finishes-black, white, and a striking dual-tone black-and-white option. The back panel maintains Xiaomi’s signature large camera module but features a revised sensor arrangement, with all four lenses branded by Leica. A flat display with subtle curves along the edges can be seen in the images, along with a centrally placed hole-punch camera and ultra-thin bezels. On the right, the power and volume buttons are positioned for easy accessibility.
A leak on Weibo by a user known as Panda is Bald indicates that the Chinese variant of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will house a massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. With a thickness of 9.4mm and weighing approximately 229 grams, the device is shaping up to be both robust and premium. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will include satellite connectivity. A 2K quad-curved display is rumored, and it is likely to be available in a single high-end configuration featuring 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera system is expected to be a standout feature, with a powerful quad-lens setup led by a 50-megapixel 1-inch Sony LYT-900 primary sensor. It will be accompanied by a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN5 ultra-wide lens, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto sensor, and an impressive 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP9 lens with 4.3x optical zoom capabilities. These high-end imaging specifications position the device as a premium camera powerhouse. As the official unveiling draws closer, more details about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and its global rollout are likely to emerge.
